VM was born in Rome. After a degree in Italian Literature at Università degli Studi di Firenze, he trained at the Accademia Nazionale d'arte Drammatica "Silvio d'Amico", Italy’s most prestigious drama school. VM completed his training as a director in 2009 with a production of his own play, "Fari nella nebbia" [Lights in the mist]. He was subsequently awarded the Premio SIAE for Best New Italian Playwright at the 53° Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto. Since then VM is an acting and playwriting teacher at Rome's Università Link Campus and has gone on to win numerous awards as both a playwright and director. His plays include:“Fari nella nebbia" [Lights in the mist] (nominated for the 50° Premio Riccione, honourable mention from the jury); "Hansel e Gretel" (winner of the Premio Scenario Infanzia 2010); "L'ultima cena" [The last supper] (nominated for the Premio Hystrio 2011); "Cani" [Dogs] (2° Premio Borrello, Premio CassinoOFF 2014); "Giulio Cesare", a radical adaptation of Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, that was Italy’s selection for the Globe to Globe Festival, part of the London 2012 Olympic Games Cultural Olympiad; "La classe" a very successfull play about immigration and social conflicts on tour in 18'/'19 and '19/'20; "The little Prince" [Il Piccolo Principe] a musical written for Todo Modo and Teatro Nazionale della Toscana, music by Morgan: "Il nodo", translation and adaptation of "Gidion's Knot" by Johnna Adams for Serena Seniglia's show with Ambra Angiolini and Ludovica Modugno; "Ulisse, il folle volo", reading written for Michele Placido e Violante Placido. VM's plays are published by "Editoria&Spettacolo" and "Titivillus". As director, recent work includes: “Inverno" [Winter] by Jon Fosse; "Odissea" [Odissey] by Derek Walcott; "Six Passionate Women" by Mario Fratti, produced by the Croatian National Theatre Ivan Zajic.
